At Bluebell we specialise in Russian Ballet. Our beautiful syllabus follows the pedagogy of the great Russian teacher Agrippina Vaganova and emphasizes soft flowing arms, elegant headlines and spectacular leaps and batterie.

 

Miss Sue, our founder, was trained by Russian ballerina Lydia Kyasht, one of the founders of our syllabus, and Miss Trudi worked extensively with Beryl Morina, who danced with Ballet Russe, when it was updated more recently.

 

We teach ballet from Foundation to Advanced level and from Grade 4 we teach pointe work. Students are entered for exams with NATD.

 

Every other year we stage a young people’s adaption of a full length classical ballet and have staged productions of Swan Lake, Sleeping Beauty, The Nutcracker, Coppelia, La Fille Mal Gardee, La Bayadere, Cinderella and La Sylphide.
